Please join us as we welcome Ca’ del Baio winery from Piedmont, Italy to The Pip!  Ca’ del Baio is a family owned and operated winery from the Barbaresco region within Piedmont and many of the wine we will taste are based on the Nebbiolo grape.  The Nebbiolo grape is considered one of the regal grapes of Italy – dare I say, a “benevolent king who rules with a soft voice.”

Stylistically, Ca’ del Baio wines are renowned for their balance, elegance and value. They effortlessly convey the unique details of each grape variety while maintaining each wine’s sense of place in clear focus.

For those of you who are fans of Lucidity Imports’ Giuseppe LoCascio – you must join us – this is one of his wineries.

Ja, we are going to have a super evening of German wine tasting accompanied by nothing less than a lederhosen-clad wine expert und DJ.  Herr Christian will be leading us in a wine tasting and also spinning some German tunes to create the “almost in Berlin” kinda feeling.

Chef Hank will be serving up his infamous Smashburger style burgers out back.  Please, let him build them for you, he’s fussy about the burger build...  Add your fixins after.  The Pip will serve up some “burgerlicious” wines.

Join us for a super fun Taco Night extravaganza! Chef Hank will be working the grill out back to plate up some tasty street tacos.  We’ll have a toppings bar so you can jazz up your tacos as you like.

We’ve timed this so that you can get your taco on before, during or after you’ve indulged at the Wine & Art Stroll.  Or just come by for tacos.

There will be a special wine menu, wine slushies and beer on draft. 

Here’s the plan:

• C’mon in, find a seat and we’ll take your order for beverages.

• Head out back (through the kitchen) and order & pay for your tacos w/Chef Hank

• He’ll give you a ticket for each taco plate. We’ll help deliver taco plates when we can but you can also head out back and check

• Order your tacos w/Hank and he’ll plate them up for you

  • 3 tacos are on a plate

  • Choose any of the 3 fillings:  TBD

• Mosey over to the topping bar and dress your tacos

OoooOoooOOooooOOOooh! YESSSSSSSS! Join some fabulous women and sip Rose wine poolside all day for our ‘second annual’ Rose All Day!

WWe celebrate at our favorite North Pool (adults only) at Cache Creek. Our bartender starts at 11am. We'll have a lounge area reserved all day for a shady respite and a place to safely store your purse/bags. Relax in a lounge chair, sit and chat in the sun, read in the hot tub or frolic in the pool. Make new friends or rest and sip in quiet. We'll be there until dusk.

We'll enjoy a hearty lunch of gourmet sandwiches and then will have some drinkin'-all-day-worthy snacks in the afternoon.

Our group enjoys the privileges of the North Pool (w/out having to rent a room or book a spa service). Rose wine served by our private bartender (noone counts how many glasses...), lunch AND the company of some awesome women. Youbetcha this is a LADIES ONLY (over 21) EVENT.

Note: any special drink or food orders are not covered by Pip. Tickets are non-refundable but you may transfer them to someone else.

It is quite an honor to have Steve Matthiasson and Jill Klein Matthiasson lead a class at The Pip.  Both Steve and Jill are extraordinarily knowledgeable about so much having to do with farming:  from soil types, organic farming, native plants, international grapes, winemaking to preparing food from the garden and orchard. For our class, the main thread will be their philosophy on organic farming and winemaking and of course, we’ll taste several of their wines.  This is an incredible opportunity to learn from the leaders and taste their phenomenal, benchmark Napa wines.

Big Bottles & Burgers Birthday Bash!

“I like big bottles and I cannot lie!”

In celebration of someone’s milestone birthday [no numbers mentioned, but it’s half a century] we’re going to bust open some of our big bottles.  Yup, that means the really, big, big bottle too! 

And what goes with big bottles?  Big burgers – and not those little ones you’re used to.  Chef Hank will be flipping lamb burgers out back.*

This is a big birthday so it needs a big celebration, because we all know a Pip who likes to go big.  Come on down between 4 – 6 and join in the frolicking, frenzy of folks fêting our fearless leader, cuz it’s her big 5-0!!!!!

WOW!  What a treat.  It’s been a dream of ours to highlight Kenny’s wines.  Amy worked with the wines in pre-Pip days and we’ve had a few of his wines off and on but now is the time for THE BIG ONE.

Please join us in welcoming winemakers Kenny Likitprakong and his partner, Lynn Wheeler, to The Pip to taste through five of their wines.  The wines will speak for themselves but let us wax poetic about Kenny & Lynn.  First of all, they do the right things for the right reasons.  They walk the walk.  They work closely with their farmers.  They support their community in a multitude of ways.  They are family oriented.  They make fabulous wines!  Their fabulous wines are incredibly affordable.  They OVERDELIVER, in so many ways.
